About Us/Vision

Where there is no vision, the people perish…”

(Proverb 29:18)

In the winter of 2004, while still residing in Chicago, Illinois, God gave me a vision that would ultimately take me back to Texas. In this vision, God told me that I would oversee His ministry here in Texas.

After leaving Chicago, God allowed me to experience and worship in various churches in the DFW Metroplex, which enabled me to grow in knowledge and patience.

Although the time-line was not clear as to when and where God would plant this ministry, we continued to wait on the Lord and be of good courage. As a result of our unwavering faith in Jesus Christ our Lord, in January 2009, God blessed us to become a seed church of our parent church, Community Missionary Baptist Church of DeSoto, Texas, pastored by Oscar D. Epps, Sr.

Community Missionary Baptist Church of Waxahachie was born and provided various services to this community for two years.

In March of 2011, the Lord saw fit to move this ministry to another community, in Red Oak, Texas. And as such, a new name was given - "Journey of Faith Baptist Church". Although the name and location of this church has changed, the mission and vision remains the same.
